ZAGREB, CROATIA – Entertainment, laughter, colours and positive energy have painted the Croatian capital which is hosting the 13 th Cest is D` Best street festival these days, from June 4 until 7. Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic joined the Kraljevi ulice group on stage during the opening, even signing a song with them.
On Friday and during the weekend, supreme performers and acts will entertain Zagreb citizens in Ban Jelacic Square, Cvjetni Square, Bogoviceva Street and Park Zrinjevac. Among other guests, the main stars will be Swedish illusionist Charley Caper, Senmaru & Yuki from Japan and Australian fiery quartet Flame Oz.
Amidst the festivities, a Pan picnic will be held on Friday, a competition in which the winner will be rewarded with the amount of beer that matches their weight (as many beers as kilos). A cycling surprise will be presented on Saturday in Cvjetni Square.
All fans of the Zagreb astroturf will be educated on safety in transport in Cvjetni Square. The Bike association and Profil publisher will teach the citizens how to enjoy riding a bike and follow traffic regulations, while a race will be organised as well.
Cest is D` Best is the oldest street festival which promotes and creates cultural expression in the street, at the same time expanding the tourist offering of the City of Zagreb. At first, it was a one-day event held in Cvjetni Square. Because of the public interest, it expanded to the city centre streets and squares. Its authors, otherwise top musicians and street artists are Kraljevi ulice, i.e. Zlatko Petrovic Pajo and Miran Hadzi Veljkovic.
