As the Jarun Lake temperature was pleasant at 20 degrees Celsius, the most daring Zagreb citizens opened the bathing season.

ZAGREB, CROATIA – The fact that the summer has really arrived to the scorching Zagreb astroturf is evident from the busy Jarun Lake, where the bathing season was opened.

The number of parked cars surrounding the lake witnessed that many decided to spend the weekend at Zagreb`s sea, as Jarun is usually called.

Lake Jarun again proved to be the most favourite destination of all Zagreb citizens of all generations.

As the temperature climbed up to 30 degrees last week, the people of Zagreb decided it was time to open the bathing season. The temperature of the lake was pleasant at 20 degrees, which was more than enough for the most daring of swimmers.

Windsurfing class

Apart from the bathers, windsurfers also opened the season. A windsurfing class was held at the Big Lake, teaching primary and secondary school pupils everything about this popular summer activity, while even a race was held.

Those who decided not to go bathing enjoyed having a barbeque, which is a Zagreb tradition once the weather gets warmer.

As there were no vacant gazebos, which are reserved for delicious meals or socialisation, the weekenders improvised, carrying their own tents, makeshift tables and chairs.

It seems Jarun is still the most favourite destination of all Zagreb citizens of all generations.
