ZAGREB, CROATIA – Many decided to get everything they need for theie holiday dinner at the last moment, on the final day of 2008. Zagreb`s most famous market, the Dolac market, was was crawling with citizens who decided to buy everything they needed for a big New Year`s dinner, which will provide them with enough energy to count down to midnight. Many bought sourkraut and minced meat, required for the traditional meal, "sarma".
Some chose fruit, as vitamins are really significant duringthis time of year, when the temperatures go below zero.
Greengrocers` were satisfied and rubbed their hands, maybe because of the cold, or maybe because of good sales. Still, they could not hide the fact that they would prefer to be somewhere warm in this holiday period, together with their beloved.
