The Croatian PM commented on announcements by Slovene PM Jansa about a referendum on Croatian EU accession in Slovenia.
Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said on Tuesday, commenting regarding the announcement of a possible referendum in Slovenia on Croatian EU accession, that he believes “Slovenia will be among those who will support Croatian EU accession most”.
Reporters in Budapest asked the Hungarian PM Ferenc Gyurcsany and his Croatian counterpart who is on a one-day official state visit to Hungary, to comment on the announcement by their Slovene colleague Janez Jansa.
Sanader said he “exceptionally honours the Slovenian friends and that they were among others who have supported Croatian NATO and EU accession”.
- I`m positive such a decision or a statement can be placed within the context of the upcoming electoral campaign in Slovenia – the Croatian PM said.
