The Australian television carried out an independent investigation on the Britt case, and announced showing the suspected murderer.
DUBROVNIK, CROATIA - Australia’s channel 7 announced that on Sunday it will reveal the identity of the suspect for Britt Lapthorne’s murder. The police confirmed that the Australian television team was in Dubrovnik, and that they recorded a documentary on the Britt case.
“During their five day stay in Dubrovnik, in January 2009, a team from the television company Seven Network from Australia recorded a documentary – an overview of the Britt Lapthorne case, an overview of events that preceded Britt’s disappearance, recordings from the placed where Britt visited during her stay in Dubrovnik and other things” it says in the report from the Dubrovnik-Neretva police department.
The documentary included an interview with an officer from the Dubrovnik-Neretva police department, who was responsible for the Britt Lapthorne case.
Police do not have Australian television recording
The Australian television carried out an independent investigation in Dubrovnik, during which they gathered evidence and came across photographs of the alleged suspect.
The report states that there is no evidence that an offence occurred, so that they cannot talk about a murder and suspected persons for committing that offence.
“We stress that the autopsy carried out in Croatia determined that there were no traces of violence on Britt’s body, and as far as we know, this finding was confirmed in the autopsy carried out in Australia” it says in the report.
At the end of last year, Britt Lapthorne’s parents visited Dubrovnik and met with the local police chief Zlatko Sokolar, who informed them of the measures carried out with the aim of solving the circumstances of their daughter’s death. He also informed them of the continuation of the investigation that is still taking place.
Elke Lapthorne, Britt’s mother, also confirmed that the Australian television channel recorded a documentary on her daughter’s case. However, she said that the Lapthorne family has yet to see the photograph of the person suspected of murdering Britt.
