DUBROVNIK, CROATIA – An Australian citizen of Croatian origin, Krunoslav Ken Medanic, 39, was last seen with a backpack on the Adriatic Highway on Tuesday, August 4, at 6.10pm near the town of Mlini, some 12 kilometres from Dubrovnik. Police launched an intense search after his brother reported him missing on Sunday, August 9.

Successful entrepreneur
Stanislav Stanley Medanic, the brother who reported his brother missing, owns with his brother the “Villa Kvaternik” luxury hotel in Cavtat. The brothers returned from Sydney in 2002 as highly educated experts and bought the hotel, a 16th century renaissance villa, from the Croatian Privatisation Fund.
The two brothers turned the building that had no electricity or running water located on the St. Rok hill side into a luxury hotel of the family type which was supposed to be the first in a chain of such hotels.
