HDZ RALLY
MAY 27 2009 12:16h
Ivo Sanader pointed out the importance of this election at a rally in Dubrovnik.
DUBROVNIK, CROATIA – President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Ivo Sanader, also the Croatian Prime Minister, pointed out at a rally in Dubrovnik on Tuesday evening that these local elections were exceptionally important, because they will decide how Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County are going to develop, which is why it is important to vote for the HDZ and its partners.
- If we want a policy which encompasses all Croatian classes and which advocates the Diaspora and Homeland Croatia, then we will give our vote to Dubravka Suica as Dubrovnik mayor and Nikola Dobroslavic as Dubrovnik-Neretva County prefect – Sanader said a the rally, before the second round of the local elections.
The PM reminded that Dubrovnik was one of Croatia`s symbols, without whose defence Croatia would not be a NATO member today and the Croatian flag would not be hoisted before NATO headquarters today either.
Peljesac Bridge
Speaking of political opponents, HDZ president Sanader assessed that their policy offers false promises, which is best evident from the example of the Peljesac Bridge, as they oppose its construction.
- Peljesac Bridge is exactly what our fellow countrymen have to be proud of, just like our roads – Sanader pointed out.
Sanader called Andro Vlahusic, Duravka Suica`s counter candidate, a false prophet who uses lies and fabricated scandals, adding that the voters will be able to recognise this.
- Dear friends, I ask you for a fight, because the HDZ is strongest when it is in an electoral fight. I expect our candidates to win on Sunday – president of the HDZ Sanader told the gathered crowd.
