With rare exceptions, Chile has not recognised Croatia as a potential business area yet, said Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – Croatian President Stjepan Mesic received the Order of Merit from the senate of the Chilean Republic, as recognition for the support in the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries. Mesic received the recognition from Senate’s vice president, Baldo Prokurica.
During their meeting, Mesic and Prokurica expressed satisfaction with the achievements in the Croatian-Chilean relations. However, President Mesic stated that with rare exceptions, Chile has not recognised Croatia as a potential business area yet, said Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
Mr Prokurica mentioned oil and gas research and shipyards as potential fields for a future stronger collaboration, and he was interested in the possibility for Chilean students to receive scholarships in Croatia.
The guests from Chile, two of which have Croatian origins, gave recognition to the president for his role in the development of Croatia and stabilisation of the region.
