Presidential elections held on December 27th

Text

A decision on the presidential elections for the new President of the Republic of Croatia has been made at the Government session.

A decision on the presidential elections for the new President of the Republic of Croatia has been made at the Government session. One of the issues discussed was the arbitrage agreement. Government president also commented the Government deputy minister and the minister of economy, Damir Polančec's resignation, saying it was a wise decision made by her colleague and a way of showing a responsability toward the Government and the HDZ.

- He'll get himself now enough space to protect his own family and himself. We've had an excellent business relationship, even better than when we were assigned the Government Vice Presidents - retorted Kosor in her comment to the zero-point agenda while focusing her attention to Polančec. A possible successor to Damir Polančec on todays Government session wasn't appointed.

The lobbies were mentioning two names, Željko Lovrinčević from the Institute of Economics and Ivan Miloloža, one of the Croatian Employers' Association's officials but apparently the Prime Minister Kosor herself aborted the appointment of Željko Lovrinčević while Miloloža allegedly already refused himself the new appointment. Off the record, Polančec's successsor won't be apponited for another two weeks. Another segment of the zero-point agenda was the arbitration agreement with Slovenia. Kosor thanked all those who agreed to it stressing out it was already sent to the Parliament.

"Everyone nourishes their own style"

- Negotiations have lasted long enough and though it may seem we've prolongued negotiations over a minor thing, that's simply not true - said the Government president. She said the only objection was why we've awaited for so long, to what Prime Minister responded, it was all about "perfectioning the details".

Two days ago the Prime Minister agreed with the SDP president, Zoran Milanović, that they'll meet on Friday at 10 am, for a discussion, but he did not come. - Everyone nourishes their own style, especially when it comes to the actions towards other people - judged Kosor on Milanović's absence. She also added that the agreement will be signed on Wednesday. Following the prime minister's comments, the Goverment Vice President, Slobodan Uzelac  commented that - The agreement concluded with Slovenia is a job well done. -
