Primary school hid attempt of rape

Bus driver from Sinj allegedly tried to rape an eighth grader during school trip. Sucidar Primary School tried to cover it up.

 Primary school students from Split enjoyed the last day of their school trip to Istria. However, this September 3, will not be remembered as ‘fun’ for the 14-year old student from Sucidar Primary School after the bus driver, 26-year-old LJ.V. tried to rape her in a hotel ”Fountain”. Particularly alarming, concerning the whole affair, is the fact that the school tried to cover up the whole event.

The girl was attacked after dinner when she went to the first floor of the hotel, her father said for Slobodna Dalmacija. Shocked father, Andro Bezic, noted that the driver gave many compliments to the minor before finally attacking her. Fortunately, the girl managed to resist the attacker and escaped into her friend's room.

Her friends decided to run and ask for help before the driver tried to stop them. However, girls managed to reach their teacher and tour guide, after which the frightened attacker locked himself in the hotel room. What further infuriated Bezic was the fact that nobody, during this entire time, notified the police.

 

Driver “punished” by a switch in bus schedule

The bus carrier has sent another bus and another driver after the tour guide insisted they do not return with the attacker.  Teacher and the Principle decided not to inform the police and children were instructed not to tell their parents, Bezic claims.

The unfortunate girl has had frequent nightmares ever since and is currently undergoing a psychological treatment. Upset father has hired a lawyer and filed a complaint with the State Attorney's Office. Bezic is grateful to the people from the agency that organized the trip and highlights appropriateness of their response, but is also shocked with the indifferent attitude of the Transport Sinj's director, Jakov Jerkan.

Worried father says the driver gave gratuitous compliments to other girls as well, but that his daughter was the only one who got physically attacked. He also notes that if his daughter was a daughter of a high ranking politician, the accused driver would not be punished by a newly scheduled trip to Bosnia, but a trip to Bilice prison.
