The Primosten municipal council has has asked that natural disaster be declared because of the fires and several months of drought.
At a special session held today, the Primosten municipal council asked that the area be designated a natural disaster area because of the large-scale fire on Jelinjak hill and in the residential district Bilo last week.
Municipality head Stipe Petrina said that the fire damaged several houses and vehicles. A vehicle belonging to the Primosten voluntary fire unit also burned down.
The municipality will also ask the Sibenik - Knin County to declare natural disaster because of the several months long drought that affected the olive and grapevine crop. The drought also destroyed 80 percent of the Babic grapevine in Bucavac. For this reason, the municipality asked that natural disaster be declared for the area about 15 days ago.
