Pukanic Murder Not Planned in Montenegro

Text

The murder of Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic was not planned in Montenegro. Montenegrin police are still investigating.

The murder of the owner of “Nacional” Ivo Pukanic, and his associate Niko Franjic, was not planned in Montenegro, said the spokesperson of the Montenegrin police Tamara Popovic for “Vijesti”.

“The activities carried out by the Croatian police as well as operative and other information that the Montenegrin police have shows that the murder of Ivo Pukanic and Nika Franjic was not planned in Montenegro” said Popovic.

She added that the heads of the Croatian police have also come to the same conclusion whilst being in communication with their Montenegrin colleagues.

Results of Montenegrin investigation delivered to Croatia

Popovic said that the Montenegrin police, independently or at the request of their colleagues from Zagreb – carried out activities and checks for people who were linked to the murder of Pukanic during the investigation in Croatia.

“The results of our activities and checks have been delivered to the Croatian police or to their services for contact. Data that the Croatian police are using in the investigation is in question, which is why the Montenegrin police cannot make it public” explained Popovic.

Belgrade’s press published on Wednesday that the plan for Pukanic’s assassination was made in Montenegro by the suspect Sreten Jocic and his godfather Slobodan Djirovic-Kardinal from Bar, Montenegro.
