Racan Alleviates Pain With Morphine For Weeks

Text

After seeing classic methods are not helping him, nor acupuncture, SDP head reached for morphine.

For months Racan has been suffering pain in the shoulder area, but doctors suspected the so called frozen shoulder illness. The Social-Democratic Party (SDP) head tried to have the pain treated by the experts at the Dom sportova sports hall. When this did not help, he turned to alternative methods, like acupuncture.

But, he found pain rescue only in morphine, an opiate analgesic which alleviates pain.

Terminal phase of disease

But, the fact is opiates are often administered in the terminal phase of the disease, if he, as his party colleagues claim, took them. Anyway, opiates are avoided if not necessary because they create addiction.

“I am a fighter and an optimist and I believe al will end well, while the withdrawal from the public has only one function – to make a recovery and return as soon as possible”, said Racan.

Mesic amongst the first to find out

Even before certain family members and friends, Racan notified President Stjepan Mesic, to whom he pointed out on Monday that an operation is certain. However, although the first SDP member would want the operation to be done in Croatia, this may not be possible.

Until Racan recovers, the SDP will be run by by Vice-Premier Zeljka Antunovic.
