Rech: Hodak Murder Has Nothing To Do With Zagorec

Elisabeth Rech, Austrian attorney of general Zagorec, is shocked with the murder of her colleague’s daughter.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA - Although the family of retired Croatian general Vladimir Zagorec was given protection by the Austrian police right after the brutal murder of Ivana Hodak, daughter of Zagorec`s Zagreb attorney Zvonimir Hodak in the very centre of Zagreb, Zagorec`s Vienna attorney Elisabeth Rech dismissed connection of the murder with her client.

- I claim with certainty that the death of Ivana Hodak has nothing to do with Vladimir Zagorec. However, as I said yesterday, what I feared most has happened – Rech told us over the telephone, adding that the murder of her colleague Zvonimir Hodak`s daughter was at the same time sad and horrifying.

When asked if Zagorec`s family was given police protection because of the mafia, and if she believes that the Croatian and Austrian underground were connected, Rech replied that mafia knows no borders, but she did not wish to discuss the reasons of the family`s protection.

- I can just confirm that Zagorec`s family is under protection and this is all I will say. I don`t want to give any other related details. Zagorec`s Austrian attorney told us.

She said she does not want to answer questions about whether she has contacted her client.

- I have no comment about Zagorec – attorney Rech replied.
