The Roma people celebrate their National Day on the very World Health Day (7th April). This year they celebrated it at Ban Jelacic Square presenting their own culture.
-Until this year we were always celebrating singing and dancing at private parties. This year we decided to share our day with other citizens – the president of the Board of Roma minority of Zagreb, Nedjatin Kamberovski said.
Roma people were giving presents to all who were interested in their performance, such as books about their culture, lighters, cups but also a lot of leaflets saying “Do you judge people by their looks?” Kamberovski pointed out the importance of this sentence and added that discrimination wouldn’t stop as long as people didn’t fully accept their culture
