ZAGREB, CROATIA - The Rudjer Boskovic Institute has become a part of the European Network of Ionic Accelerators – Spirit (Support of Public and Industrial Research using Ion Beam Technology), as one of 11 laboratories which use accelerators for researching ionic beams and is the only Spirit member outside the European Union, the Institute announced Tuesday.
The announcement reads that the new “Infrastructures” project officially commenced at the start of March in Dresden. Seven million euros will be secured for stimulating the transnational approach to experimental devices with ionic beams and financing funds of guest scentists, as well as home laboratories. The Rudjer Boskovic Institute will receive a donation of 215,000 euros from that sum.
