DUE TO SPURIOUS CARD

Sanader is faced with fee of 3,000 to 5,000 kuna

Text

Nearly EUR40,000 worth of watches of Prime Minister were not reported in property card, which was obligatory by law.

«Lange und Sohne» worth 28,000 Euros and a «Blancpain» worth 10,000 Euros are watches owned and worn by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader. Although it might be questionable where he got the money for top world brand watches, it is an even worse fact that, from the legal point of view at least, he did not report the watches in his property card.

They are missing from the card

According to the list of assets, which are stated on our web-site, Sanader did not report the watches as his property- chairman of the parliament’s Commission for the Prevention of Conflicts of Interest, Josip Leko, told Javno. He added that Sanader had been reported by the president of the Democratic Centre party (DC), Vesna Skare-Ozbolt.

Answering the question weather the Sanader case will be processed, Leko notes how the decision if this case will be discussed must be made by all members of the Commission, and not by him only as the chairman.

Prime Minister works for a watch

It is a fact the prime minister’s property card is unsound, and according to law, if the commission decides to discuss the new Sanader case and rule that it is a case of false report of property in the property card, the government head will have to pay a fee of between 3,000 and 5,000 kuna.

When he was given a dog, the Prime Minister reported it as a present and showed it around to everyone. His salary is 20,000 kuna, so it turns out that he has been working for a watch all this time. If this is what is on his wrist, what is in his pocket – wonders Vladimir Novotny of the DC.
