Withdrawal of ministers from Supervisory boards of state and public companies was announced by Luka Bebic among the first ones.
Following the Social Democratic Party (SDP) proposal that mistrust is expressed to Minister Branko Vukelic, Ivo Sanader`s government is considering to withdraw its ministers from state services.
-State and public companies have a serious task which must be transparent. But, it is not necessary that the supervisory boards` members are ministers only, this task can be performed by other government representatives-said the government’s spokesperson Ratko Macek.
As the Jutarnji list writes, although the government rejected the Croatian Peasants` Party and Croatian Social-Liberal Party proposal on the withdrawal of ministers, this does not mean that it will not propose the same thing itself.
Namely, if the government had accepted this proposal, it might be interpreted as a confirmation that Minister Vukelic was responsible for the Brodosplit affair.
On the other hand, seeing how this is a sensitive issue, The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) does not wish for the opposition to be credited for this move, but will take the initiative themselves.
