In the police statement, Mladen Slogar said he killed Ivana because Hodak did not find him a job and said he knows him from soup kitchens.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - Mladen Slogar, the suspect for the murder of Ivana Hodak, said in a statement for the police that he killed Ivana Hodak because her father Zvonimir Hodak did not fulfil three promises, writes Jutarnji List.
Slogar spent three and a half hours giving the police inspectors his statement, and he admitted that he killed her because he was insulted and humiliated. He also admitted that he decided upon the murder 14 years ago.
Zila told the inspectors that the first reason why he killed Ivana is that Zvonimir did not help the former director of the work organization Vlado Kobescak, who ended up in prison due to the suspicion of embezzlement in leasing cars. Zila was convinced that Hodak would successfully solve it, but that did not occur.
Another reason is that Hodak promised to stop him from getting fired at the tennis courts at Mladost, and promised that he would find him another job.
He blames Zvonimir Hodak for his life misfortune
Zila was fired in 1995, but despite that he continued to visit the sports fields at Mladost. After a new job opening appeared at the sports complex, Zila contacted Hodak for help, and hoped that Hodak would get the job for him. However he did not do that.
The third reason Zila gave is that Hodak said that after he was fired, he received unemployment payments for 18 months, and then sold his apartment and lived from that money. The largest humiliation, he claims, is when Zila was seeking a job and he heard Hodak say to somebody that he knows him from the soup kitchen. That deeply insulted and humiliated him.
Because he knew the Hodak family for years, he knew how much Zvonimir was tied to his daughter Ivana, and he placed all of his life misfortune on the back of Zvonimir Hodak.
Mladen Slogar should declare his plea on the murder of the 26 year old Ivana Hodak on Monday. When the investigation request from the Zagreb County State Attorney’s Office arrives to the court, the classification of the crime will be known.
