The President of the Republic, Stjepan Mesic, decorated Dragutin Golik postuhously, the Office of the President said in a statement.
Due to his exceptional credits for Croatia, the president Mesic decorated a Homeland War volunteer Dragutin Golik with the Order of the Croatian Shamrock.
As it stands in the communiqué from the Office of the President of the Republic, Mesic did it on the ground of his constitutional and legal authorities, and according to suggestion of the State Committee for Decoration and Commendments.
Late 2005, Dragutin Golik barehandedly tried to prevent the armed robbery of Zagrebacka bank in Zagreb. He was shot and fell into a coma. He died on January 26.
