Students End Faculty Bloc In Rijeka

The bloc has been officially lifted at the Rijeka Faculty of Philosophy.

RIJEKA, CROATIA – It has been over a month since the bloc of Croatian faculties started by students of the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy, demanding free education. They were joined by other colleagues of faculties of Zagreb, but their rebellion calmed down soon.

A day after the local elections, the bloc of Rijeka Faculty of Philosophy has been officially lifted.Tin Banić-.--.-

- The bloc has been lifted, but lectures will be held on alternative locations today. Lectures will not take place at the faculty facilities, because they have to be prepared. The usual schedule will be in effect from tomorrow – students of the Faculty of Philosophy told us in Rijeka.

The bloc was lifted in Pula on Friday.

- This is not surrender, the bloc is lifted, but this does not mean the end of the protest and we continue with the initiative for free studies – the students from Pula pointed out.

Students of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb and Zadar remain consecutive in their bloc.

Zagreb students protested on Saturday in the city`s main square, saying that they do not believe promises which are not worth anything.
