Director of the Croatian National Television dismisses 200 employees and hires two personal assistants.
HRT announced a public competition for three jobs on Saturday, two of which are for assistants of the chief director. Job announcements have been published in newspapers, and they further specify that HRT is looking for equipment expert, assistant for technology and Finance assistant.
Except for these two positions, HRT is looking for the general HRT management director. This post was formerly occupied by Ivan Skoro.
Vedran Brkulj, T-Portal journalist writes that the last session of the HRT’s Program Council decided that, during the November of 2009, the number of people in HRT should be reduced by 200 and that they need to lay off another 500 by the end of the next year. In addition, what makes three new posts somewhat unusual is that the fact that they never existed before.
Sutlic and his 13 helpers
A HRT spokesman, Janos Römer, said that the current business situation in Croatia and elsewhere, is forcing them to look for reinforcement in specific areas. Finance Assistant would later become the head of HRT’s finance and would work on the site that currently does not exist.
According to official data Sutlic ‘has’ two consultants and six assistants at his disposal. However, according to numerous articles written in the media, Sutlic actually has around 13 assistants.
Their number, according to the HRT, is high because of organizational reasons, and they say that the new assistants will be managing larger units.
