After several months, swine plague again occurred in eastern Slavonia. Twenty-one infected pigs were killed.
Because of the danger of the disease spreading, the transport of all livestock has been forbidden in the next seven days in Otok and surrounding towns in eastern Croatia.
Any case of animal dying, notwithstanding the cause, must be reported to the competent veterinarian, Radio Dalmacija reports.
-- All pig owners are to prevent any unnecessary transport from one pig farm to another – the county veterinary inspector, Josip Baric, said.
