After Mijo Bezer, the assistant of the head of the office for transport filed a law suit against Miljenko Gocin, the president of the Union of Croatian drivers (UCD); the same thing was done by Taxi Cammeo firm. It was reported at the press conference last week.
- They put blame on us for the decline of their firm and for lots of other irregularities, so we filed a law suit against them. This has been the second report against Gocin in one year’s time since we started working in Zagreb – said Drazen Medic, the operational manager of Taxi Cammeo.
Medic talked about other problems as well. For instance, the Croatian Institute of Health Care doesn’t approve the sick leave for the driver of Taxi Cammeo Roko Palic who was beaten up at work. He said that they would file a complaint against this decision.
-The verbal attacks are almost everyday reality for our drivers. Fortunately, the number of physical attacks has decreased, but they haven’t stopped. We cooperate with the police, we have even hired a private security firm and we introduce the so-called “panic” button in the car which can be pressed by a driver if he is attacked – Medic said.
They also announce some other new activities that should improve their service. The customers will be able to pay by credit cards. They will also organize some games for the customers and they announce job vacancies for 250 drivers. This is the number of the drivers of Oryx taxi who were fired. 20 of them have already been working for Cammeo Taxi.
