NO MORE COMMITTEES
OCTOBER 1 2009 16:02h
Transitional period, during which medical commissioners will finish their terms with ensured clients, will happen during October.
In accordance with new regulations, which came into force September 30, authorized doctors from the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance (HZZO) will be in charge of supplying medical leave permits instead of current HZZO commissions.
However, the month October will be a transitional period during which commissions will still solve scheduled cases with their clients.
Authorized HZZO doctors, who are also controllers from the Institute, will visit agreed number of doctors where they will be allowed to review medical records and, in consultation with the doctor, invite patients back for review.
Patients will also be relived with this protocol because they will no longer have to come to the HZZO offices nor wait to talk to the medical committees.
HZZO also points out that the medical commissions will still be responsible for pregnancy leaves and parental support.
