The International practice „IPA CRO-FLOODS 2012“ organized by the State administration for protection and rescue is taking place now. The practice has started on May, 22nd and it will last until May, 24th 2012.
Screenplay of this practice is based on floods that have stricken the wider area of Zagrebacka county. The practice takes place on the lakes of Rakitje, Oresje, Zapresic and Chiche, as well as at the river Sava (locations of Medasava and the river Krapina) and on the DUZS polygon at Horvati.
The practice is a part of IPA program organized by consortium of the State administration for protection and rescue, the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for civil protection, Federal agency for technical help of Federal Republic of Germany and the Agency for urgent situations of Kingdom of Sweeden.
Rescue teams that participate this practice came from: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Germany, Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia, Sweden and Croatia. There are around 500 people in total; some of them are participants and other are coaches, members of the jury, viewers...
This practice has a goal to strengthen cooperation among states involved in the Mechanism for European Union's civil protection. Croatia has been participating this activity from 2009.
