The architects Ivan Juras and Luka Korlaet took part in the discussion called “U tinelu: architectural drawing”. The event was held on Tuesday 3rd April in Drustvoarhitekata premises on Jelacic Square at number 3. The topic was sacred architecture and a modern city. The moderator of the discussion was DavorkaPerić.
Prof.dr.sc. Ivan Juras was born in 1941 in Sibenik. He graduated and got his master and Ph.D. degrees at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. The topic of his scientific work was “The application and development of drawings in designing projects” (1990). Since 1971 he has been working in Department for drawing and plastic arts. He became a full time professor in 1999. He was the dean of the faculty in the period from 2002 to 2004.
Along with his teaching and scientific work (Vladimir Nazor award in 1986 for Kresimirdom in Sibenik together with Emil Spiric, blocks of flats in Omisalj and Zagreb), prof. Juras has actively worked as a scientist (he has been the leader of the project “Atlas of Croatian architecture – 20th century”, he published about ten scientific-professional articles in the field of the theory of architecture and urban planning in different professional and scientific magazines, he also published a book called “Architecture between verbal and visual” in 2008).
He was the member of editorial board of the magazine “Architecture” from 1997 to 1998. He had several individual exhibitions of his drawings and watercolors.
Luka Korlaet was born in 1974 in Zagreb. He graduated at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. He works at the faculty in the Department for buildings. He was teaching drawing so he is interested in the topic of drawing as the means of analysis, creation and presentation of the works of architecture.
