After discovering the body, the accused men were in shock and their accountability was decreased, psychiatrist says.
Osijek District Court acquitted three 27-year olds who were charged with breaching the dignity of the deceased after they published a YouTube video featuring a corpse they discovered in Drava River. The court stated that there was no malicious intent involved, which immediately, eliminated the crime.
According to psychiatrist’s evaluation, due to shock after discovering a dead body, the trio’s accountability was reduced and they were not fully aware of their subsequent actions.
In July of last year, Misel Kovac, Damir Gavenda and Goran Novacic, discovered the corpse of an unknown man who killed himself with a gun. They recorded a video using their cell phones and published it on YouTube. Their recording contained a variety of inappropriate comments and images.
