The people and its vote are not for sale

Text

Obviously, some took the other direction in campaign thinking that money could buy everything.

The election campaign has never started earlier with the lowest punches in Croatia. The citizens say that unimployment, bribe and corruption, the situation in health care system and social politics are the most important problems. But, most political parties are occupied with throwing mud at each other.

We are not interested in politics of ‘affairs’

Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) took the other direction and we tried to talk about real problems and economy, but without results. We were told that we would not get votes in this way. HSS, according to a proverb, every dog has its day and everything goes as it should. We are not interested in politicis of affairs. We want to get our votes based on our programme we made and presented to the public as a real, political party.

Buying votes

Others obviously took other direction in campaign, thinking that money could buy everything. We were in a position to read that, in some areas, 300 or 500 kuna had been offered for the vote on local elections. It turned out that the people could not be buyed and as a rule, they were punished for such shamefully bought votes. I am astonished with people who throw money so easily. I believe if it had been earned in a hard way, it wouldn’t have been thrown away so easily.
