The President of the City Council supports the building of URIHO center

URIHO is an institution which takes care of disabled persons regarding job opportunities. They organized an Open Day Event where they hosted all their business partners, the representatives of the City and the City Council. Everyone was able to see how they work. There are 500 people working for them now. 300 of these people are disabled people. Every day there are 800 people coming to their premises to take part in one of their educational programs as well.

- I hope that this kind of social activities will be developed as soon as possible. All those who are less probable to get a job because of their abilities could become ready for the job market – DavorBernardic, the president of the City Council, said.

He promised that he would personally get involved in the project of the new URIHO center. One of such projects from 2007 is covered with dust.

Along with the education and training, the institution deals with commercial activities – sewing, tailoring, printingand producingorthopedic products and metalwork. The headmaster of the institution JosipDrzaic said that they earn 70 per cent of the whole income by these activities. The rest of the support comes from the City of Zagreb which is the owner of the institution.
