The human scull found two days ago in a grove near Solin, dates from 1960s, at the earliest, and not from World War Two, as was previously speculated, the pathologist of Split Clinical Hospital Dr Antonio Alujevic said today.

The filling in teeth of the scull, that has no jaw, indicates to this fact, Dr Alujevic said. It was proably a young male.

Although there is a noticeable damage on one eye socket, tt is too soon to talk about the cause of death, until all bones found on the spot are not collected. DNK was taken from teeth in order possibly to establish the victim’s identity through an analysis.

The police will begin disinterring in the area.

Children found the scull in a pine tree grove near Diocletian street in Solin, and parents of one child, who took the scull home notified the police. It was sent to Pathology ward of Split Clinical Hospital for analysis.
