This Season Even More Slovenes on Croatian Coast

Text

Our neighbours clearly did not literally understand their politicians` appeal and increased arrivals announced for this summer.

Namely Dalmatian tourist personnel are not the least bit worried by Dimitrij Rupel`s appeal to Slovenians not to spend their holidays on the Croatian Adriatic coast.

-As Dimitrij Rupel and his like-minded Marko Pavliha seethe, inviting Slovenians to boycott Croatia, representatives of a Slovenian agency come to me in Sibenik to stipulate additional capacities in the Sibenik area for the forthcoming season. This is the answer how will Slovenians react to absurd invitations of politicians who desire to sow dissention betweenn the peoples- said Nikola Alviz, owner of the NIK agency in Sibenik to the Slobodna Dalmacija daily.

Master of Science Drago Pirija agrees with him, a lecturer at the High School for Tourism in Sibenik, who claims no Rupels can ruin economic relations of the two countries because two of the strongest Slovenian tourist agencies are bined in Adriatica.net and because Slovenians cannot do without the Adriatic, just as Croats cannot do without Pohorje.

In the Sibenik-Knin county, namely, as many as 59,000 Slovenians took their holiday, with 270,000 overnight stays, and their number in relation to 2005 increased by 14 percent.
