Zadar locals say they saw a flying object in the sky on Sunday night, which changed colour and vanished.
ZADAR, CROATIA - Zadar locals were disturbed by an unusual occurrence in the sky on Sunday night around 20:30 hours. As Kata Colic of Turnj told us, they saw a ball which kept changing colour and vanished in a few minutes.
According to witnesses, the unidentified flying object hovered above Sveti Petar and vanished above the island of Ugljan. Some even recorded the flying object.
Zadar citizen Vlado Nikolovski was in Sveti Petar newer Zadar with some friends on Sunday night around 21 hours. He told the 24sata that he saw a lighting dot appear in the sky.
- Our friend Kata Colic took a video camera straight away and started recording. This light moved towards Kukljica in Ugljan and became bigger and bigger. It lingered for some ten minutes and disappeared. It kept changing colours the entire time – Vlado told the 24sata daily, adding that other friends tried to take photos of the unusual lighting ball, but failed. Once they got it, it simply went away.
Zadar citizens recorded an unidentified flying object in the sky last August, only a few days after Citluk locals spotted odd circles in the field. Flying objects were spotted in Metkovic, Karlovac and Omis last year as well.
Optical illusion possible due to air humidity
- According to what I have seen, some sort of a strange light is in question and the recording is really poor. Everything is shaky, because it is hard to zoom in well on a small dot. People are prone to seeing all sorts of things in it and this light can be anything, a military balloon, normal light or something else. However, the fact is that the air was exceptionally humid last night, which is why it is possible that what we see on the tape is an optical illusion, because the light occasionally changes colour – member of the Zadar Astronomy Association Ivo Dijan told us.
He remembered that he saw something similar a few years ago in Kornati, when sensational footage of three lighting dots appeared in the night sky. However, it turned out that army drills were in question.
