Djuro Trkulja from Novi Sad has offered land for sale in the heart of the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia.
The 40-year-old man from Novi Sad, Serbia, with a decade-long diplomatic stint in the UN, is selling his land of 3,480 square metres in Plitvivce Lakes for 5.2 million euros.
After he issued the advertisement, he said the value of the land increased significantly and that he had a serious buyer.
-- I do not want to state details because of the explicit wishes of the potential buyer – Trkulja explained.
Djuro offered the real-estate to the Republic of Croatia, which has the right of pre-emptive buying, since the land is located n the heart of the Croatian Plitvice Lakes National Park.
According to State Secretary Grka Ivezic, the price offered for pre-emption was too high, Jutarnji list reports.
-- Considering the unrealistically high price of 5.2 million euros, it was decided that the Republic of Craotai will not use its right to pre-emptive buying in this case – said Ivezic.
