The recording shows people near the Nacional building bringing in a scooter, and leaving an explosive there, says Krunoslav Borovec.

The expert committee that is leading the criminal investigation of the murder of Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic decided to publish the recording from the surveillance camera in the yard of the Nacional building. The recording shows that at 12:40 that day, somebody brought in an explosive device on a motorbike and headed off into an unknown direction.

Even though a man in a helmet is in question, it has been evaluated that on the basis of the clothing, bodily construction or personal characteristics, somebody could recognize the man. Everyone who has any information have been called upon to report to the police. For this cause we have opened a special telephone number – 4563-287, which people can call - said Krunoslav Borovec at a special press conference.

A few days ago, Borovec announced that the police would most probably publish the recordings from the surveillance cameras, after they look through them, and they did so seven days after the liquidation of Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic.

When he was asked when the police waited until now to release the video, Borovec answered that it was an expert decision and evaluation, and that in this phase of the investigation, publishing the recording is useful, because the police know that the “citizens are motivated to help the police”.

Borovec did not want to answer if Robert Matanic was amongst those arrested, and did not want to comment on the eventual suspects whose names were published in Nacional, as well as the wife of one of those killed, Mirjana Pukanic.

“When media speculations are in question, we do not try to explain them, it is not in our interests to define to the public in which way the criminal processing is going” said Borovec.

He added that he cannot talk about concrete names, and that an all encompassing criminal processing has been undertaken throughout all of Croatia during the past few days, during which a large amount of people were processed, some eliminated, and a few were arrested today as well.

“We have gained much useful information from the citizens, some of the arrests were based on delivered information, but I cannot speak about their nature. We are counting on a large amount of information from the citizens and if were did not believe in its usefulness, we would not be publishing this recording now” concluded Borovec.
