- As far as it seems Croatia won't extend the legal age for retirement. We will still be able to retire at the age of 65 – said the minister Mirando Mrsic at Brussels today. He attended the meeting with the EU council for employment and social policy. But, as Mrsic added, every country of the EU has same problems that could cause a necessary modification of retirement systems so the systems could remain sustainable.
- Europe is getting old, Croatia is getting old as well. The lifetime of citizens is prolonging so the retirement systems could hardly stay in a way they are now. Everybody is trying to find a right financial model that could keep those systems sustainable. As a matter of fact, we are doing the same thing in Croatia – Mrsic said.
