Will Kosor Be Held Accountable?

Text

Kosor admitted it was her mistake she did not dismiss Cigelj earlier, while 85% of citizens believe the dismissed Cigelj.

The severe confrontation of Vice-Premier Jadranka Kosor and the dismissed head of the non-governmental association department, culminated last night during the Croatian Television show “Otvoreno”.

Namely, mutual accusations about who ordered the intelligence check of Non-governmental Associations Committee members reached a pinnacle when Cigelj stated in front of cameras how she recorded certain conversations with the vice-premier.

Cigelj: I have evidence against Kosor

But, unfortunately, it appears that the disputable conversation about the Security and Intelligence Agency (SOA) check order was not recorded by the dismissed head.

-But, I have evidence the order for the check came to me from Jadranka Kosor- she said. However, she did not wish to specify what concrete evidence was the case here.

-You recorded me?- repeated Jadranka Kosor in disbelief.

Justifying the dismissal of the head of Non-governmental Associations Department, vice-premier Kosor pointed out how she was relieved of duties by the government for not doing her job well.

-Why did you not dismiss her earlier because of it, why, she has been spending tax payer`s money?- the vice-premier was asked by show host Mislav Bago.

Jadranka Kosor responded it was her mistake, so she was to blame for not dismissing her.

-And that is all?- inquired Bago, after which Kosor repeated it was her mistake.

Shamefully low support of J. Kosor

Normally, it is an interesting fact how this was one of the “Otvoreno” shows with the highest ratings because almost 12,000 people answered the telephone survey to the question whom do you believe more, Jadranka Kosor or Jadranka Cigelj.

Out of that number, 85 percent believe the superseded Cigelj, and only 15 percent the current vice-premier. Therefore, even premier Sanader can ask himself does he need such a lowly positioned vice-premier and government minister, in the eve of elections.
