There, at separate meetings, they met with the head of Zagreb’s mayor’s office Marijan Masas, and the head of the office for education, culture and sport, Jelena Pavicic Vukicevic and associates.
Conference on energy efficiency and maintainable development in Zagreb during April
In a conversation in the office of Zagreb’s mayor, they talked about the friendship between the two cities, and the expo that will be held in Shanghai in 2010, where 30 years of friendship will be marked between Zagreb and Shanghai. That will be an opportunity for a series of meetings and confirmation of friendship. 100 days before the expo, Shanghai will hold a large conference on environmental protection and energy efficiency, that will invite 100 people, of which 20 are mayors, 20 Nobel Prize winners, 20 famous scientists, and 40 other world experts from that field.
The guests from Shanghai stressed that an invitation for that conference will be sent to Zagreb’s mayor Milan Bandic. Bandic has already sent an invitation to Shanghai’s mayor to participate in the international conference on energy efficiency and maintainable development that will be held in April, which besides mayors from European cities, will gather people from the field.
Artistic ensemble from Zagreb called to Shanghai
At a meeting with the head of the office for education, culture and sport, Jelena Pavicic Vukicevic, they talked about the possibility of continuing and improving cooperation in the field of culture. Guests from Shanghai called the hosts to visit Shanghai in April and November, where two important cultural manifestations will be held: Spring of the City of Shanghai and Artistic Festival. As was stressed, that event would be an opportunity to present the friend city with artistic ensembles from Zagreb and Croatia.
Both meetings mentioned the exhibition EXPO 2010, which will, according to all participants in the meeting, if we are to judge by the Olympic Games held in Beijing, certainly move the standards for organising great events.
