The representative of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure sea captain Nikola Mendrila opened the 21st Zagreb Boat Show. He announced the new Law of Maritime property and sea ports which will improve the management of ports, supervising and solving the property issues.
The sea captain expressed the hope that nautical tourism would be the main foundation of Croatian tourism because it grows in spite of recession. Croatia was named as the first Mediterranean nautical destination at Boat Show in Dũsseldorf. This can be the additional reason for great expectations.
If we talk about numbers, the Croatian Adriatic was visited by 60 thousand foreign yachts and boats last year. The growth was three percent if compared with previous year 2010.
The number of chartering firms in Croatia is 1583. The number of visitors also grows according to the ministry in charge.
What’s new in nautical world today? The 21st Zagreb Boat Show will try to present this during four days. The show is opened till Sunday. There are 290 exhibitors from 27 countries of the world. One fourth of the show is reserved for domestic shipbuilders like Piculjan, Sas Vektor, Ad ships etc.
The boat Four Winns s-215 will be presented for the first time. It is the powerboat of new generation which holds the title of the European engine boat 2012.
The event shows a kind of reflection of world nautical market which finally shows growth after the three-year period of recession. How much this growth can be? We can find out if we visit Nautika, the biggest of six similar events in Croatia.
