Agroproteinka d.d. company of Sesvetski Kraljevac was among the first companies in Croatia to receive resources from SAPARD.
The largest animal by-products processor received money from the European Union pre-accession fund intended for candidate countries for agriculture and rural development.
Directorship for market and structural support in agriculture with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management ratified 50 percent of financial resources to Agropreteinka from the total investment which amounted to 12,477,929.50 kuna.
Agroproteinka will invest the approach 6,239,464.75 kuna into a project of constructing appliances for biological purification of waste waters and the adaptation of the process and meat-marrow flour cooling line.
-This investment will enable the construction of the first device for the complete purification of waste waters according to the environmental directive of the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control of the European Union, in the agricultural sector in Croatia. The device construction and line adaptation will commence in March 2007, because all performance documentation is done. We estimate the investment will be over by the end of this year- Ivica Grlic Radman pointed out, Agroproteinka Board president.
Agroproteinka d.d. already has a device for the mechanical-chemical pre-treatment of waste waters, and with this investment it will completely round off its adjustment to EU standards on environmental protection area as well.
European Union co-financing share in the approved resources for Agroproteinka d.d. is 75 percent, while the remaining 25 percent is ensured form the state budget of the Republic of Croatia. Through SAPARD programme, 25 million euro was given to Croatia, and the programme has been applied since 2006.
