Compared to last year, Croatian banks' capital assets in January were 150 million kunas lower.
In January, Croatian banks had a 621.8 million kunas' income, says the banks' monthly statistics report, published by the National Bank of Croatia, reports bankamagazine.hr.
3.48 billion kunas' profit in 2006
Croatian banks' capital assets at the end of January were about 150 million kunas lower than at the end of last year, when it had amounted to 304.9 billion kunas.
Croatian banks' loans to clients increased from 183.8 billion to 185 billion kunas within a month, while the amount of deposits (savings, terms deposits, and those on current and direct transfer accounts) increased from 202.9 to 206.2 billion kunas.
In 2006, Croatian banks earned a 3.48 billion kunas' net profit, only 3.4% more than the 3.37 billion kunas' net income earned in 2005. The banks' overall capital assets simultaneously rose 17%, from 260.6 to 304.9 billion kunas.
