Croatian Telekom Probed Over Monopole Suspicion

Amis Telekom and B.net requested the Agency for the Protection of Market Competition to investigate whether HT is abusing its position.

The Agency for the Protection of Market Competition has started an investigation to determine whether Croatian Telekom (HT) abused its position, and to asses the Deal on strategic-business partnership of the Medjimurje County, Cakovec Pharmacy and Medika, the Agency announced on Sunday.

The Agency has started a probe against HT and Iskon Internet company linked with HT after an initiative from the Amis Telekom company to determine whether they are abusing their position on the market of leased telecommunications conductors by aggravating market conditions for other operators, with the goal of forcing them out of the market.

The Agency has started a probe against the Croatian Telekom after an initiative of the B.net company as well, regarding the abuse of its position on the leased telecommunications conductors market and the distribution of TV programmes market to users, in a way that it is forcing other companies out of the market with its prices.

The Agency has also started an investigation of the Deal on strategic-business partnership of the Medjimurje County, Cakovec Pharmacy and Medika, made on December 16.
