Last November marked a rise in Croatia’s foreign debt to the amount of 28.3 billion euros.
In relation to October, the total foreign debt increased by more than 600 million euros. Compared to the same month in 2005, Croatia’s debt increased by 3.44 billion euros, while the relative annual growth was 13.8 percent, says Limun.hr.
Companies increase foreign debt by 2.4 billion euros
In November, the highest growth rate in foreign debt was yielded by companies in the amount of 340 million euros. Also, if we look at the growth of foreign debt per branches, companies increased their foreign debt by 2.4 billion euros, which is an annual rise of 35 percent.
Banks’ foreign debts grew by 330 million euros
The heightened growth in foreign debt resulted in the increase of the sector’s share in the overall Croatian foreign debt by 33 percent. In the same month, banks’ foreign debt increased by 330 million euros. Compared to the end of November of 2005, the foreign debt of the banking sector increased by around 990 million euros. At the same time, the relative annual growth of debts was around 12 percent.
