The registered unemployment rate in Croatia in June was 17.3%, or 0.7% down from May, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
June was the third month in a row to see a drop in the registered unemployment rate, mainly due to seasonal hiring in the tourist sector.
The registered unemployment rate was 20% in March, 19.1% in April and 18% in May. On the annual level, however, the registered unemployment rate was 0.4% higher than in June 2011 when it reached 16.9%.
The registered unemployment rate is calculated as a ratio between the number of job-seekers registered with the National Employment Service and the active labour force. (Hina)
