Croatia’s trade deficit is 4.26 billion dollars

Zagreb's foreign trade deficit is 37 percent lower than it was in the same period last year.

According to preliminary data released by the Statistics Department of the City of Zagreb’s Strategic Planning and Development, Zagreb economy recorded a trade deficit of 4.26 billion dollars in the first half of this year.

In the first half of this year Zagreb's foreign trade deficit was 37 percent lower than it was in the same period last year.

Zagreb economy exported 1.83 billion U.S. dollars in the first six months of this year, which is 29.4 percent less than the same period last year. At the same time imports decreased by 35 percent and amounted to 6.09 billion dollars.

 

Agriculture, forestry and fishery exports dropped by 48.9 percent during the first six months

According to the National Classification of Activities statistics, Zagreb manufacturing industry, exported 1.51 billion dollars worth of goods, which is 32.6 percent less than the first six months of the last year; while at the same time imports of manufacturing industry fell by 35.4 percent (4.65 billion dollars).

In agriculture, forestry and fishery exports fell by 48.9 percent (43.5 million U.S. dollars), while imports also decreased by 31 percent (142.2 million U.S. dollars).

The mining and extraction of imports rose by 16.1 percent (168.1 million U.S. dollars), while exports fell by 28.3 percent (987 million U.S. dollars). The supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, exports increased by 42.6 percent (40.2 million U.S. dollars), while imports decreased by 12.5 percent  (258.4 million U.S. dollars).
