Former personnel director of the VW concern, Peter Harz was sentenced to a fine of 576,000 euro because of corruption and embezzlement.

Braunschweig court, still, spared him of a prison sentence, but convicted him to two years of probation. The ruling is a result of the publicly controversial agreement of the court, prosecution and the defence where Harz offered an extensive confession.

A private law-suit is still being filed against the former Volkswagen personnel director in which he is demanded to give back the embezzlement money: millions of euros.
