Sale in Croatia starts by the end of year, price will be between Panda and Grande Punto.
Long-awaited photographs of the new Fiat 500 have finally appeared after the public accepted the
Treipuno concept with approval, which was presented in Geneva exactly three years ago. At that time, Fiat had no necessary money for the development of the series model, but now, these problems are solved. Italians somewhat copied the formula that BMW used during the reincarnation of Mini in a more modern form- to be as close to the original as possible. Fiat 500 is constructed on a modified performance of the Panda platform, which the new Ford Ka will be based on as well. Both cars will be getting off Poland factory lines.
Three engines
Autocommerce, Fiat distributor for Croatia, notified us the models will be available for sale by the end of year, with the price somewhere between Fiat Panda
and Grande Punto. Initially, three engines will be in sale, two petrol fuelled and one diesel fuelled engine. Petrol fuelled ones are of 1.2 the power of 60 horse power and 1.4 the power of 100 horse power, while the diesel fuelled engine is a famous and awarded machine with the volume of 1.3 litres developing 75 horse powers. So far, Abarth performance is not being mentioned, but the model will be upgraded yearly, therefore nothing is out of the question. Like Mini, Fiat will offer a wide range of additional equipment to its customers, which will personalise their item. Let us point out that the official presentation will be held in Turin, Fiat`s city, on July 4, exactly 50 years after the original model marked the beginning of Fiat`s production after World War II.
