According to recent data, Croatian National Bank`s assets increased by 15% during December in relation to the end of 2005.
In December 2006 total assets of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) amounted to 68,06 billion kuna. In relation to November, this is a 2,1 billion kuna increase, that is, in comparison with the end of 2005 growth is almost 9 billion kuna.
Reduction of foreign assets
Latest information show a reduction in the foreign share of assets. Namely, in December a drop of 1,8 billion kuna was recorded in relation to November, probably due to foreign debt return because during the final month of last year the state was buying foreign currencies from HNB more intensively, Limun.hr reports.
Increase of total assets occurred due to the Central Bank`s stronger demand by commercial banks through repurchase of securities.
