Libya Orders 14 French Rafale Fighter Planes-Media

Libya agreed to purchase 14 French Rafale fighter planes and 60 helicopters during the visit of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Paris on Monday, French newspaper Le Figaro said.

The Rafale, manufactured by France's Dassault Aviation, is France's next generation, multi-role combat aircraft, combining both fighter and bomber roles and has been a flagship programme for France's arms industry.

A Dassault spokesman declined to comment.
