Market Value Of Securities Grows

At the end of February the market value of securities was 361.4 billion kuna or 106 percent more than their nominal value

In comparison to the start of the year, the market value of Croatian securities in February this year was larger by nearly 18 percent.

According to the SDA (Croatian Central Depository Agency), at the end of last month the market value of 928 shares was 308.6 billion kuna, whilst the market value of 58 bonds was 38.8 billion kuna, and the 64 commercial papers were worth nearly 14 billion kuna. The market value of other securities was 70 million kuna.

At the end of February Croatian companies and natural persons owned 49.05 of Croatian securities, of which 39.48 percent is owned by companies and only 9.57 percent by natural persons.

The total value of securities on the Croatian market at the end of last month was more than 177.2 billion kunas.

Part of the 65.5 billion kunas worth of securities filed under savings accounts need to be added to that figure, as well as part of the 669.6 billion kuna worth of securities filed under portfolio accounts.

In comparison to the start of this year the share of Croatian owners of Croatian securities shrank by 2.72 percent, this was mostly because of the smaller share of companies, which fell by more than 3 percent.

At the end of February, foreigners own, according to the SDA, securities worth 117.9 billion kuna or 32.62 percent of the market value of all Croatian securities.

If we compare this to the data from the start of the year, the market share of foreigners at the end February was larger by 0.82 percent.
